Brief Description: Commission 101

Full Description: This three-hour session provides a comprehensive introduction to the Tennessee Firefighting Commission and its role in supporting firefighters and fire departments across the state. Participants will gain an understanding of who the Commission is, how it fulfills its mission, and the resources available to the fire service.

Topics include:

Overview of Commission structure and functions in supporting firefighters and fire departments.

Certifications offered and the accrediting bodies that ensure statewide and national standards are met.

Education Incentive Programs available to both volunteer and career firefighters.

Practical guidance on navigating the Commission website and utilizing Acadis for registrations, records, and testing.

This class is designed to be adaptable for a wide audience, including recruits, training officers, and Chiefs, and will provide valuable insights into how the Commission works to advance firefighter training, certification, and professional growth.
